Miro Lahtela is one of the most accomplished active HEMA competitors in the world, currently ranked 3rd globally in Mixed & Men's Steel Longsword with nearly 800 rated bouts in various weapons.
On the mat and in the classroom, he's known for clean mechanics and structured training. His fencing is deeply informed by the sources of early Lichtenauerian longsword tradition and pressure tested by top-tier competition around the globe.

In this workshop we look at the most common decision of Lichtenauerian longsword tradition. Boiling down most of the plays and principles into a singular simple question of direction gives us a tool for bringing the sources alive even in the more stressful situations.
